First Blog

This blog was created in response to gentle nudging from a dear friend; however, more broadly, I hope it will help to create a community of kindred spirits. The name "kendred kitchen" is a play on my name (obviously) and kindred (also kindredkitchen was already taken - come to think of it I should check that blog out).  My dear friend Amy (the gentle nudger) felt that the concept of kindred was a centralizing theme of the life I have tried to cultivate.  Together with the fact that pretty much all of my social interaction occurs around food the blog "kendredkitchen" was born!  I am hopeful this will be a space to talk about community, kinship, food, and other things that stir the soul.
